Newt Fencing installation for South East Water at Burham, near Maidstone, in partnership with Clancy Docwra
In September 2014, Twig undertook 700 metres of permanent Newt Fencing installation for South East Water at Burham, near Maidstone, and has continued to do so for various projects in partnership with Clancy Docwa, as the main contractor, in Kent (Dunkirk) and East Sussex (Harlands Road).
This has always involved vegetation clearance, including arboricultural works, formation of hibernacula, and erection of Newt or Reptile Fencing in order to trap-out ready for construction. This has been undertaken in conjunction with Ecologists and latterly supported by in-house ecological capability. Equally this has at times involved the deconstruction of fencing once projects have been completed with all re-instatement that would be required.
