Kent-based Twig Group, experts in ecological landscaping and maintenance services are proud to be supporting young people into the industry.

Two students from Hadlow College have joined the team based in Horsmonden near Tunbridge Wells to participate in work experience as part of the core units of their course.

Tom Gozzett is a Level 2 forestry and aboricultural student, whilst Angus Knowler is studying Level 3 in Countryside Management, at Hadlow College. Both students are very adaptable, keen and fit into the team well, and are planting at the moment, alongside scrub clearance.

All of the projects they’ve been working on are ecologically sensitive sites in Kent and East Sussex. This includes working on habitats for the benefit of Dormice, bats and great crested newts under the guidance and supervision of Twigs qualified and experienced ecologists. They have also been involved in the planting of thousands of trees for the benefit of wildlife, habitats and planning conditions for the solar and construction industry.

James Dickenson, Ecological Manager said:

“We are pleased to be helping Tom and Angus build their CV for the future. Work experience alongside a course gives them practical opportunities to develop their experience in many situations and put the theory into practice. This will help them be a valuable employee in the future”.
