Protected species surveys and reports and management plans

Twig can provide protected species surveys and reports and management plans to assist with obtaining planning permission and in compliance with UK wildlife legislation. Our reports are thoughtful and pragmatic and in accordance with the best industry standards (CIEEM, Natural England).

We can provide the following surveys and reports:

Ecological Baseline Surveys and reports

Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA), which entails a desk study and Extended Phase 1 Habitat survey. This is required in order to obtain baseline ecological data for the site. The PEA will provide the information necessary to determine what specialist protected species surveys (if any) are required.

Specialist protected species surveys and reports

  • Reptile
  • Hazel dormouse
  • Otter
  • Water vole
  • Breeding bird surveys
  • Bat Preliminary Roost Appraisals (PRA) and emergence/re-entry surveys

EcIA and Management Plans

Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA) identifies and assesses the potential impacts of a development and provides appropriate mitigation as well as recommended enhancements.

Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) which provided an assessment of impacts and recommends mitigation for any potential advise effects a development may have during its construction phase.
